MANINDERJIT SINGH BEDI

Born on 10thJune, 1980, Mr. Bedi is a third-generation lawyer, hailing from a small place i.e. Phul Town (Tehsil Rampura Phul), District Bathinda, falling in the district Bathinda. His grandfather was a leading lawyer of the region, of his time. His father alongwith his Paternal Uncle succeeded the Law Chamber of his grandfather and had taken the laureates to the next level. However, sudden demise of his father in the year 1998, had shattered him. However, his Paternal Uncle carried on the profession, and he is still practising at Rampura Phul. Mr. Bedi took his zeal to succeed the legacy of his father, had motivated himself as he always believe that the ‘SHOW MUST GO ON’. He completed his schooling and graduation at Rampura Phul only and thereafter started his journey towards the field of law by completing LL.B. from the Punjabi University Campus, Patiala, in the year 2005 and getting enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh. After getting enrolled as an Advocate, he started his journey in the Legal Profession by assisting and learning the essentials of the profession from his paternal uncle, while practicing at Rampura Phul. Since 2009, shifted to Chandigarh and mainly practiced Law in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. During these years, he had handled various important matters relating to fields of Constitutional, Civil, Criminal, Service, Revenue, Consumer, Matrimonial, Arbitration, Company laws, M.A.C.T etc. As a Panel Counsel, Mr. Bedi has remained on the Panel of various important Boards a Corporation in the State of Punjab viz-a-viz PSPCL, PTU, ULB’s, PUNGRAIN etc. He had an experience of serving the office of the Advocate General as an Additional Advocate General, Punjab from, July 2023 till March 2025. During this tenure, he had represented the State of Punjab in various high profile and high-stake matters. Mr. Bedi has represented the State of Punjab before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in various high-profile matters. Owing to his sense of responsibility towards the society, he had handled various matters Pro-Bono. He assumed the charge of the office of the Advocate General Punjab as a 36th Advocate General Punjab on 30.03.2025
